PILOT INDOOR HOCKEY COMPETITION – YOUTH /COLLEGE

AKH is running a pilot indoor competition in the 7 week period November 2nd to December 18 at Auckland Grammar School Number 2 Gym.

The pilot runs every Monday evening 5.30-7pm (two 45 minute games) and Fridays 5-7pm ( two one hour games)

With College and Youth age players having a severely disrupted season due to COVID we are offering this opportunity to youth players as opposed to adult players.

Indoor Hockey is an exciting version of Hockey we are reintroducing with the last competition played in 1987 in Auckland. The skill set required enhances field hockey skills and the game is really popular in Europe with some of the worlds best Hockey players in Germany, Holland, Spain and Argentina being dual indoor and outdoor internationals.

We are looking for 4 Boys and 4 Girls teams either at the U15 or U18 level. Teams need only have 5-6 players with 4 players and a GK allowed on the court at a time. Teams can play without a GK if they so wish meaning 5 field  players on the court is also acceptable. We will supply the sticks and balls required and explain the rules to teams on day one. An umpire will be provided. The player fee for the series is $50 covering 7 games.
