Pam Elgar Auckland Hockey President awarded Sport NZ Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to Pam Elgar, Auckland Hockey President on being awarded the Sir Eion and Jan, Lady Edgar Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 New Zealand Sport Recreation Awards last night.

Pam has made significant contributions to hockey over the years, particularly in governance roles. She served as the President, Vice-President Female and Chair of Auckland Hockey, as well as President of Hockey New Zealand, Oceania Hockey Federation and was a Board Member of the International Hockey Federation and has been instrumental in promoting gender diversity and biculturalism in sports across Aotearoa.

Alongside her work in hockey, Pam has worked across various organisations, including Make a Wish Foundation, Surf Life-Saving Northern, and Alzheimer’s Auckland.

She has also been recognised with several honours, including the Officer of NZ Order of Merit and the International Olympic Committee Women in Sport Achievement Diploma.
