AKH CEO Manoj Daji recently caught up with AKH and Black Sticks legend Ryan Archibald, who was a recently named a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for Services to Hockey in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Ryan is an AKH Board Member and stalwart of both Auckland and Black Stick hockey teams during a stellar career spanning from 1997 – 2016!

Ryan is NZ’s second most capped Black Stick with 327 appearances, including 3 Olympic and 3 Commonwealth Games campaigns, including a Silver Medal at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games.

Ryan continues to contribute to hockey at all levels, providing coaching and governance expertise for Auckland Hockey, nationally within the Black Sticks coaching programme and is still playing top level club hockey for Somerville in the Premier Intercity competition.
