Vinod Patel of Auckland Indian Sports Club (AISC) was elected as one of our two newest Life Members at the AGM on Friday 2nd of May.
Vinod has been a member of the AISC since 1990 and elected a life member in 2008, he is also a life member of the NZ Indian Sports Association elected in 2012.
He was Elected to the Auckland hockey club council as AISC representative from 1991. He has been actively involved in numerous administrative roles for numerous decades including chairman of Auckland hockey.
Vinod’s CV speaks for itself, he has dedicated most of his life to his passion of sport, particularly Hockey and Cricket. He has spearheaded AISC for the last thirty-five years, devoting his time energy expertise to help build a solid robust framework.
He kindly stepped in as interim Chairman in 2024 while Auckland Hockey were resolving some administrative issues. This is testament to his character. He is very professional and pragmatic.

- AISC Player, Executive Member, Secretary, Chair and President 1991-present
- Auckland Hockey Long Service Award
- Hockey NZ Long Service Award
