Ak Hockey CEO Manoj Daji announced today his resignation from the role of CEO. His last day in the role will be 29 February 2024.
AK Hockey President, Ray Parmenter notes:
“Manoj has been CEO of AK Hockey for the last 7 years, which has seen many highlights including navigating the pandemic, winning titles, securing funding of $9m for capital projects, growing the Royals Academy exponentially and having the world’s best coach help our coaches. His commitment and hard work for AK Hockey has been a large part of that success, and the organisation both thanks him for his service, and wishes him well for the future.”
On his retirement from the role, Mr Daji says:
“This is my 50th year in hockey and an opportune time after 21 years of executive level roles in education and sport and performance coaching to take a break and pursue some passion projects in NZ and overseas in both sectors and in the charity field. I have been privileged to have met many amazing people and have learned from the very best in their respective fields.
I trust I have made a difference to the athletes, students, staff and coaches in my care during this time. We have achieved a lot in the last 7 years, and I am pleased to have played a role in that, not just as CEO over that time, but also as a rep player, rep coach, and board member previously. I am particularly proud of the way in which we navigated the pandemic, the capital project work we are undertaking, and that some of our first-class players managed to play international friendlies for Auckland v Canada, Netherlands, Spain, Korea and Japan.
Sincere thanks to my wife Asmita and my sons Kaylin and Nikeel for being my number one supporters.
I wish the association well in its 121st year and beyond.
Heartfelt thanks to all those I have served including Dave Wigmore, Ryan Archibald, my two chairs, my loyal staff, Board Members, Presidents, Life Members and Rep Coaches, Rep Players and parents, Funders and Sponsors, and for the loyal friendships of many who I will personally see and thank before March 1. Each of you reinforced the simple adage that in life and in sport nothing of significance can be achieved without the support of others.”
